mt kilimanjaro safarisDay 1: Moshi-Machame camp (9,800 ft)
To day you will have breakfast and drive to the park entrance gate where you will have a briefing and begin your trek through the lush tropical forest. This takes 5-7 hours of hiking. You will dinner and overnight at the camp.

Day 2: Machame Camp to Shira Camp (12,600 ft)
Breakfast and begin your trek again. This will take 4-5 hours of hiking to Shira camp. You will pass through the rocky hills with wide views of the Shira Plateau (11,000 ft). At Shira camp which is on Shira plateau provides a wonderful view of Mount Meru. Enjoy the scenic view. Dinner and overnight will be at Shira camp

Day 3: Shira Plateau to Barranco Camp
You will have breakfast descent to the bottom of Barraco valley of which you will have passed the Lava tower. As you slop down to the Barraco camp you will see numerous waterfalls and streams. This will take 7-9 hours. Dinner and overnight at Barraco camp

Day 4: Barranco Cliff to Barafu Camp
Today you will hike past the Karanga camp to the Barafu camp. This takes 7-11 hours passing through lush vegetation in sheltered hollows. Dinner and overnight at Barafu camp

Day 5: Barafu Camp-ascent to summit; descent to Mweka Camp
Wake up at midnight take something worm and begin your trek at 1:00am ascending by torch light. You will make your way up the paths that are surrounded by the Ratzel and Rebman glaciers. This trek will take you to Stella Point (18,800 ft), in about 5-6 hours. From the Stella point its 2 hours to Uhuru Peak (19,345 ft) the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro and the tallest on the African continent. From here you will descend to Barafu and then proceed to the Millenium Camp (12,500 ft).

Day 6: Descend to Mweka gate –Moshi/Arusha
Breakfast and then descend to Mweka gate. Drive back to Moshi or Arusha.
